Abstract
There are a number of theories not only
emphasizing the connection between anxiety and depression,
but also indicating the unity of the affective,
cognitive, physiological and behavioral components.
The fact most researchers seem to agree upon is that
these disorders correlate in time. The data obtained in
course of longitudinal studies confirm the hypothesis
that anxiety precedes depression. It has also been
found out that those children who were first diagnosed
with anxiety and then with depression suffered longer
periods of depressive states.

to the motive-need sphere of elderly people and some
examples of studying elderly peoples motives are provided.
In conclusion the authors discuss the perspectives of
materializing concepts of need and motivation in social

attitude having various interpretations in philosophy,
logic, sociology, psychology and linguistics. The investigated
concept is considered mainly in Russian tradition.
A number of adjacent concepts are presented: psychological

The author resorts to the description of the key points
of Myasishchevs theory of interpersonal relations to show
that even in the most developed national theory the concept
attitude is an ambiguous term, possessing a wide
and almost universal spectrum of meanings.

Abstract
In modern Russian society diverse social
group representatives show considerable differences as
to the degree of their satisfaction with the quality of their
lives. Changes in standards of living of Russian people
have caused social, economic and psychological problems,
which have sharp negative consequences. Being a
signifi cant resource of any country, the youth should feel
psychological comfort to carry out the functions of reproduction
and further development of the society. However,
young people from different social groups are not equally
satisfi ed with the quality of their lives.

Abstract
The article studies distinctions in the choice
of a coping strategy by healthy examinees and those
having complaints of psychosomatic character. It has
been established that at a high level of situational uneasiness
the examinees with psychosomatic complaints
neither aspire to active actions nor choose adaptive
emotional coping strategy, which leads to disconnection
between the components of coping behavior, emotional
properties and individual resources

Abstract
The article is concerned with the peculiarities
of emotion and will regulation of pupils while transferring
from elementary to secondary school. The structure of
emotion and will regulating system of young schoolchildren
comprises two blocks, whereas intellectual and will
components make one block.
The parameters of these components are closely connected.
The other block includes motivational and emotional
components. The parameters of the emotional component
are interrelated, but rather slightly connected with
the parameters of the motivational component.
During the transition of schoolchildren to the fi fth form
the united mechanism of emotional and will regulation develops,
with the parameters of all components being interrelated.

Abstract
Of all non-family sources of sex-role socialization
television occupies a special place as an accessible
channel of mass information. From this source
boys and girls receive a variety of information on the
problems of gender, sex-role attributes and relationships
between the sexes. At a primary school age the
interest in TV programs and other issues increases.
Those children who often watch TV programs targeted
at adult audience have the same sex-role stereotypes
as their favoured TV characters.

The article investigates four mechanisms of
emotional effects of music on the listener: psychophysiological,
simptomatiyny, subject-situational and life context.
Psychophysiological functioning and simptomatiynogo
mechanisms due to the peculiarities infl uence of music
and sound material on the human brain and its ability to
assign the symptoms of emotional distress. Functioning
of the domain-specifi c situational mechanism related to
the ability of music to refl ect emotional signifi cance for the
listener object. In the mechanism of the same life context
the music does not control the emotional experience the
listener (as in the three mechanisms mentioned above),
but only serves as a trigger for him, recalling the special
circumstances.
