THE PROBLEM OF ELDERLY PEOPLE'S NEEDS IN SOCIAL SERVICE SYSTEM
Abstract
How effectively can the system of social
services meet the needs of elderly people? To answer this
question we should both defi ne the concepts of need,
motivation, etc. and contemporary theories studying
them. The paper compares different treatments of needs
and motives in psychology. Particular attention is given
to the motive-need sphere of elderly people and some
examples of studying elderly peoples motives are provided.
In conclusion the authors discuss the perspectives of
materializing concepts of need and motivation in social
service system.
