RESPONSIBILITY OF YOUTH TOWARDS OLDER AND FUTURE GENERATIONS

Abstract

Purpose. The purpose of the article is to study the content, structure and predictors of the phenomenon of responsibility to previous and future generations among representatives of generations Y and Z. Methodology and Approach. The study was conducted by the questionnaire survey of youth of Kursk, Chelyabinsk and Arzamas (N = 463). Of these, representatives of generations Y (N = 169) and Z (N = 292). The methods of assessing social responsibility, generativity, value orientations, faith in the justice of the world, and attitudes to global risks are used. Results. The analysis showed that the responsibility to previous and future generations among young people of generations Y and Z has both common and different characteristics. Predictors of these characteristics are revealed. Theoretical and Practical implications. The features of the structure of social responsibility in two generations of youth, the socio-psychological factors associated with it and its predictors are shown for the first time.
