THE STUDY OF PRIMARY SCHOOL CHILDRENS ABILITY TO SYMPATHIZE AND TO GIVE MORAL JUDGEMENT
Abstract
The article is devoted to the questions of primary
school childrens moral development. The article grounds the
necessity of forming moral standards on the emotional, cognitive
and behavioral levels of modern school childrens personality
in modern school system. The author`s understanding
of the evolution of such concepts as: ethics, moral judgment,
empathy in philosophical and psychological research of the
past and the contemporary period is presented in this article.
The cognitive basis of the childs transition to more mature
levels of moral development is explained. The results of the
research of cognitive and emotional components of school
childrens moral development are shown as an interrelation of
the following characteristics: the childs ability to empathy, his
ability to emotionally understand the other persons emotional
state, the flexibility of his moral judgments.
