https://doi.org/10.18384/2949-5105-2023-4-25-34

Abstract

Aim. Evaluation of the level of anxiety among students of the 7th cadet class compared with their peers from the regular class.

Methodology. The Phillips School Anxiety Questionnaire was used to assess the level of anxiety.

The survey included 15 people from the regular class (of which 60% were girls) and 16 people from the cadet class (of which 25% were girls). The average age of the subjects was 13 years.

Results. Students in both classes demonstrated a moderate level of anxiety. The cadets showed a lower level of anxiety associated with the fear of not meeting the expectations of loved ones and significant people. No statistically significant gender differences were found for any of the assessed measures of anxiety.

Theoretical and/or practical significance. The work established that there is no negative impact of training in cadet classes of general education schools on the level of anxiety of adolescents.
