The journal is the successor to the publication "Scientific Notes of the N.K. Krupskaya Moscow Region Pedagogical Institute", which in 1978 received the permission of the Presidium of the USSR Higher Attestation Commission and the USSR State Publishing Committee for the right to publish the main results of doctoral dissertations.
In 1998, the academic journal "Bulletin of the Moscow Region State University" started being issued.
Since 2006, the name of the journal has been renamed into "Bulletin of Moscow Region State University. Series: Psychological Sciences". The changes in the editorial staff of the editorial board and the authors of the journal should be recognized as a significant event. It should be noted that the authors of more than half of the articles were teachers, post-graduate students, researchers from different universities and scientific institutes of Russia. Among them were researchers from Voronezh, Orel, St. Petersburg and Moscow (including St. Petersburg State University, Lomonosov Moscow State University, the Psychological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Psychology of the Russian Academy of Sciences). The change in the geography of the authors indicates that "Bulletin of Moscow Region State University. Series: Psychological Sciences" increasingly attracted the attention of the academic community of the country. This greatly determined the quality of publications. Improving the quality of academic articles of the journal influenced the growth of its citation, and the value of the impact factor of the publication. Recently, various new headings have appeared in the journal: "Review of scientific conferences", "Our guest" (presentation of the most prominent researchers of our country and their scientific discussion articles). The editorial board of the journal pays constant attention to the quality and fulfillment of the requirements to maintain the ratio between the number of publications of post-graduate students and applicants for the degree of Candidate of Sciences, and Candidates and Doctors of Sciences. Currently, due to the change in research directions, the journal has already opened the following rubrics: Social psychology, political and economic psychology; Pedagogical psychology, psychodiagnostics of digital educational environments; Labor psychology, engineering psychology, cognitive ergonomics; General Psychology, personality psychology, history of psychology.
Since September 2023, the journal has been renamed "Bulletin of State University of Education. Series: Psychological Sciences".
